Must Have Mambo...

Primarily my grandparents escaped Spain in the early 30's due to the Civil War. They wound up in Cuba, then they found themselves in the same conflict "Castro". They finally found peace in Puerto Rico......My Mom was born in
Cuba, but grew up in Puerto Rico. In the 1950's she came to New York alone, she did not know anyone, and only had $500.00 in her pocket. She met my father at Three Brother's from Italy Italian Pizzeria, she worked there as a waitress,
this buiseness was owned by my uncles.

My father was born in Sicily, he came to this country in the early 1900's, I beleive in 1921.....I know that his families name is on the wall at Ellis Island.
My father fought in Korea and left the Marines with Honers, to bad he is not still around.....

About my name...My mother knew Tito Puente, I guess that was the first time I saw the name "Mambo King" on one of my mother's record albums. I wanted to choose a name that would be recognized by 33 million Latinos in the United States. I am their Champion, I represent all of the Latin Cultures.
